SAHYOG SUMO is a medium-early maturing groundnut variety, ready for harvest in 110–115 days, and performs best with recommended row spacing of 3 × 12 or 3 × 18 inches. It produces large-sized pods and seeds with a high 100-seed weight of 70–72 grams, making it highly preferred for fresh pod consumption (boiled/roasted “Ola”). With a shelling percentage of 65–70% and excellent oil content of 49–50%, it ensures both quality and profitability.
This variety supports strong yield potential through line sowing and multiple pegs per plant, with a high proportion of large three-seeded pods. Its 15-day dormancy period provides flexibility in harvesting, while average yields range from 2350–3350 kg/hectare and can reach up to 4450–5250 kg/hectare under optimal conditions.
