Description
GIRNAR – 5 is an advanced semi-spreading groundnut variety developed by the Groundnut Research Center, Junagadh in 2020, known for its superior oil quality and stable field performance. It matures within 110–115 days and delivers an average yield of around 25 man per bigha, making it a strong choice for profitable cultivation.
This variety contains an excellent oil content of 53% along with a higher concentration of oleic acid (78.35%) and linoleic acid (4.62%), offering enhanced nutritional and processing value compared to many other varieties. With a 100-seed weight of 41 grams and moderate resistance against important foliar diseases such as leaf spot, collar rot, and terminal bud wilt, GIRNAR – 5 ensures healthier crops and dependable productivity for farmers.
