VIRAT (RESEARCH)

VIRAT is a premium, high-yielding variety designed for modern farming systems, offering exceptional productivity and market appeal. It produces large grains weighing approximately 15 grams per 100 seeds, which command higher market prices. With a lower seed requirement of only 8–10 kg and a maturity period of 100–105 days, this variety ensures economical cultivation and timely harvesting.

The variety features purple flowers, a hairless plant type, and strong tolerance to excess water conditions. Resistant to Yellow Mosaic Virus (YMV) and Anthracnose, VIRAT develops 65–80 branches with an impressive 280–380 pods per plant. Its tall growth habit (2.5–4.5 feet), non-shattering pods, and suitability for harvester-based harvesting make it an ideal choice for large-scale cultivation, with yield potential ranging from 27–40 man.
