GIRNAR – 4 is a robust semi-spreading groundnut variety developed by the Oilseeds Research Station, Junagadh during 2019–20, designed to deliver stable performance and superior seed quality. With a maturity period of 118–129 days, this variety produces medium-sized kernels with a 100-seed weight of 47.86 grams and an impressive oil content of 49.72%, making it highly suitable for quality oil production.
What makes GIRNAR – 4 stand out is its healthier crop profile, showing lower incidence of major leaf diseases such as leaf spot and collar rot compared to many other varieties. Along with an average productivity of around 22 man per bigha, it offers farmers a dependable balance of yield, crop health, and premium-quality produce for better market value.
